In an effort to strengthen emergency communications for families and staff, the East Penn School District is introducing SMS/text messages, email, and automated phone calls through a new platform called SchoolMessenger. In the upcoming 2021/2022 school year, SchoolMessenger will replace Swift K-12 for district and school communications regarding: daily absences, emergencies, safety alerts, school closings, school delays, and transportation notifications.
On Wednesday, August 25th at 6:00 PM, parents/guardians, faculty, and staff will be sent a text message invitation through a “short code” 67587 from SchoolMessenger in order to opt-in to receive text messages from East Penn.

You must reply with a “Y” or “Yes” to opt into the messaging program. If you do not reply, you will not receive any further text messages. An automated phone call will be sent to parents the day before as a reminder to watch for this opt-in text message.

Please check with your wireless carrier for information about your mobile service plan and any possible charges related to text messaging.
