Emmaus Council Will Buy Trout for Furnace Dam
Emmaus Borough Council unanimously agreed at its meeting Monday night to pay to have Furnace Dam stocked for opening day of trout season on March 30.

Something fishy was going on during Monday night’s meeting of Emmaus Borough Council.
But taxpayers have nothing to worry about - unless, of course, they have something against trout fishing.
Council voted 7-0 to give $300 to the Cedarbrook Sportsmen Club (CSC) to stock Furnace Dam with trout for the opening day of trout fishing season on March 30.

That $300 will buy 200 trout for Furnace Dam and it’s an expense that Councilman Brian Holtzhafer said is money well spent, calling it a “valid community service.”
Councilman Brent Labenberg pointed out that council has been funding the trout for the past five years or so.

The CSC will begin to stock Furnace Dam on March 27.
