Lehigh County Roadwork: Week of Dec. 3

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission have scheduled work in three nearby Lehigh County municipalities this week - Upper Macungie, South Whitehall and North Whitehall:

Upper Macungie/Weisenberg/Lowhill

• Road: Interstate 78 between the Berks County line and Route 100
• Type of Work: Crack sealing
• Date: Monday, Dec. 3, through Thursday, Dec. 6, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Restriction: Lane restriction eastbound. Motorists are urged to watch for stopped vehicles and use caution when traveling through work areas.
• Rain will cause delays.

• Road: Route 22 between Interstate 78 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike
• Type of Work: Inspection by PennDOT Bridge Inspection Forces
• Date: Monday, Dec. 3, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Restriction: Westbound lane restriction.
• Rain will cause delays.

• Road: Route 100 between Claussville Road and Hill Top Road
• Type of Work: Crack sealing
• Date: Friday, Dec. 7, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Restriction: Mobile operation. Motorists should watch for stopped vehicle and use caution when traveling through work area.
• Rain will cause delays.

South Whitehall

• Road: Route 22 ramps at Route 309
• Type of Work: Crack sealing
• Date: Thursday, Dec. 6, through Friday, Dec. 7, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Restriction: Ramp restriction. Motorists are urged to watch for stopped vehicles and use caution when traveling through work areas.
• Rain will cause delays. 

• Road: Pennsylvania Turnpike Northeast Extension Ramp to Route 22 west
• Type of Work: Construction
• Date: Sunday night, Dec. 2, into Monday morning, Dec. 3; Monday night, Dec. 3 into Tuesday morning, Dec. 4, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
• Restriction: The ramp from the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike will be closed and detoured for work by a Turnpike contractor. Traffic will be detoured on Route 22 east, Route 309 north and Route 22 west. Motorists should expect delays and use caution driving through the area. 
• Rain will cause delays

North Whitehall

• Road: Mauch Chunk Road
• Type of Work: Brush cutting
• Date: Friday, Dec. 7, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Restriction: Lane restriction with flagging. Motorists are urged to watch for stopped vehicles and use caution when traveling through work areas.
• Rain will cause delays.
