• Lehigh County food safety inspections for the week of Aug. 31-Sept. 6 (spotlightpa.org) — Several Emmaus food businesses, including Catholic War Vets, Citizens Fire Co. #2, House, and Weis Market on Chestnut Street, were cited for issues ranging from leaks and grease buildup to fruit flies, temperature problems, and clogged drains. Most violations were fixable, but they're a useful reminder to check how your favorite local spots are doing on cleanliness and food safety this week.
