• Things to do this weekend in Lehigh Valley: Celebrate Hispanic heritage, Lehigh Valley history and the end of summer (mcall.com) — Emmaus residents can send off summer this Saturday at the free Farewell to Summer Festival in Triangle Park and the surrounding downtown, featuring more than 50 vendors, food trucks, kids' activities and a Touch-a-Truck with local fire and police. You can also catch a free screening of "The Goonies," enjoy a tie-dye station, and explore the returning Scarecrow Trail, alongside other Lehigh Valley events celebrating history and Hispanic heritage.
   

• Girls Soccer Player of the Week for Sept. 16: Multiple goals in big matchups earn honors (lehighvalleylive.com) — Emmaus soccer fans will be glad to know freshman forward Brooke Evans has been named lehighvalleylive.com Girls Soccer Player of the Week after scoring multiple goals and assists in dominant wins, including a 5-1 home victory over Northampton. Several Emmaus seniors also earned honorable mention in Eastern Pennsylvania Conference honors, highlighting a strong start to the Green Hornets' season.
