• DEP: Cleanup Of The Sharon Steel Corp Farrell Works Disposal Area Superfund Site Is Now Complete In Mercer County (blogspot.com) — State environmental officials have declared the long-running cleanup of the Sharon Steel Farrell Works Disposal Area in Hermitage and Farrell complete, but new restrictions now permanently limit how the 330‑acre site can be used. Farrell residents should know that groundwater use and residential development on the Superfund property are prohibited, and anyone objecting to the order has 30 days to appeal.
   

• DEP Posted 49 Pages Of Permit-Related Notices In October 3 PA Bulletin (blogspot.com) — Among dozens of new state environmental notices, one confirms that cleanup of the Sharon Steel Farrell Works Disposal Area in Hermitage and Farrell is now considered complete. Farrell residents who follow environmental issues may also be interested in new air permits, stormwater approvals, and public comment opportunities affecting energy and industrial projects across Pennsylvania.
