New seasons, new starts
An update of what's going on with Root 174's remodel and preparations for opening in summer.
The daily soaking rain is finally maybe, possibly, perhaps over? For a little while? I probably just ruined it for everybody by saying so. I think we can all agree, though, that seeing the sun, getting outside, getting on our bikes, opening our convertible tops and wearing shorts and sandals is pretty sweet.
What else is pretty sweet are all the changes that are getting started at 1113 S. Braddock Ave. We have the keys to the space, remodeling is getting started in the coming days, we're starting to think about the nuts and bolts parts of being up and running that include staffing, menu development, operations and other fun stuff. In short, this is starting to feel like a real, tangible thing that we're doing.Â
So the weeks ahead for us hold lots of phone calls, emails, meetings, licenses and late nights. It will be worth it, though, and as my mother keeps reminding me "you can do it, you're young."

Well mom, the next month may age all of us at Root 174 a few years, but the payoff will come in early to mid July when we can finally open our doors and invite everybody in to see what all of our hard work accomplished.
