Man Waives Preliminary Hearing in 'Bath Salts' Case
The weekly report of cases heard by District Judge Thomas Caulfield in his Forest Hills courtroom.

The following is a list of cases heard in district court in Forest Hills before on Aug. 22.
- Eric Michael Wade, 22, of waived his right to a preliminary hearing on the following charges filed by Swissvale police for selling the drug known as "bath salts," which he claimed was ecstacy, on June 26: three counts of selling non-controlled substances similar to controlled substances, two counts of selling non-controlled substances represented as a controlled substance and three counts of knowingly manufacturing or distributing a designer drug. Two counts of making repairs to or selling an offensive weapon and one count of criminal use of a communication facility (cell phone) were withdrawn.
- Jason Taylor, 22, of Swissvale waived his right to a preliminary hearing on three counts of resisting arrest, two counts of use or possession of drug paraphernalia, and one count each of criminal intent-burglary, loitering and prowling at night time, intentional possession of a controlled substance by a person not registered, criminal mischief—tampering with property and cruelty to animals. The charges were filed by Swissvale police after Taylor was accused of trying to break into a residence on Hawthorne Avenue on Aug. 12.
- Jennifer J. Calloway, 44, of North Braddock waived her right to a preliminary hearing on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal parking and restriction on alcoholic beverages (open container). Forest Hills police filed the charges during a traffic stop on Parkway Avenue in Chalfant on July 2.
- Thomas Peter Ferraiuolo, 43, of Swissvale waived his right to a preliminary hearing on charges of simple assault and harassment filed by Swissvale police on June 30. He also waived his right to a preliminary hearing on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest and terroristic threats filed by Swissvale police on Aug. 17.
