One Reported Dead in Swissvale Fire Saturday Morning
The fire broke out in an apartment building on Calumet Street about 7:40 a.m
One person has died in a fire Saturday morning at 7543 Calumet St. in Swissvale.
Multiple fire departments responded to the apartment fire at 7:40 a.m. When firefighters arrived, several people had reportedly jumped from the building and at least one person was trapped inside.
The fire has been extinguished. Edgewood fire Chief Dave Andrews said three people were injured. The person who died at the scene has not been identified.

There is heavy damage to the house, which contains an unknown number of apartments. A neighboring house also has some damage.
As of 2:30 p.m., the Allegheny County fire marshal remained at the scene to investigate. Firefighters were also still putting out hot spots, Andrews said.

Calumet Street has been shut down for a block in both directions to accommodate firefighting equipment at the scene.
Firefighters from Swissvale, Edgewood, Forest Hills, Homestead, Munhall, Pleasant Hills and North Braddock responded to the scene. Eastern Area Prehospital Services also responded to the scene, as did Braddock police.
