All-Star Kid: Natalie Floreancig

Accomplishment: Eight-year-old Floreancig, a third grader at the Falk Laboratory School, is a green belt at on South Braddock Avenue. She won third place in the state tournament in 2009, just a few years after staring karate.

In addition to her martial arts skills, she’s also been involved in ballet at Bodiography for over four years. Also, she plays soccer for the Dynamo soccer company.

All-Star Kid’s key to success: Before anything else, this All-Star focuses on having fun.

“I love the games we play for warm-up,” Floreancig said. “And I love to run.”

That explains why her favorite school period is physical education, where she gets to expend energy while playing with her friends.

“I like the games we get to play in karate because we can use our techniques,” she said.

Techniques she’s perfected as she works toward the next belt level.
