Patch All-Star Kid: Sierra Ford

’s Sierra Ford is the top reader in her class, and is as generous as she is intelligent.

Accomplishment: Second grader Sierra Ford was named the Top Second Grade Reader in the Millionaire Reading Challenge. She also was named a STAR in Edgewood Elementary's Celebrity Contest, which recognizes students whose good behavior stands out among the rest. In addition, Ford recently donated 10 inches of her hair to Locks of Love.

All-Star Kid’s Key to Awesomeness: Ford said her mom provides a lot of support. They read together every night. Some of Ford’s favorites include Charlotte’s Web and Beezus and Ramona. She is extremely proud to have been named the best reader in her class and says she’ll always continue to read and improve.

It also makes perfect sense that she was named a STAR for her innately exceptional behavior. When asked why she decided to donate her hair to Locks of Love, she replied simply, “I thought it would be a nice thing to do.”
