Patch All-Star Kids: Woodland Hills High Students Win “Students for Stanley” Banner Contest!

Woodland Hills High School showed off their support for the Pittsburgh Penguins in a big way.

Accomplishment: While our beloved Penguins may not have made it to the finals this year, they had the unwavering support of the local high schoolers. Students in Marcia Mineo’s classroom and students from the Friendly Faces Program in Mr. Sabina’s English class made a winning poster for the “Students for Stanley” banner contest. Their banner was on display at the Consol Energy Arena in the lobby of the Trib Total Media Gate throughout the NHL playoffs.

All-Star Kid’s Key to Awesomeness: Students of Allegheny County were asked to create 4'x6' banners that represented their school. Each grade from each school submitted. It's no surprise that Woodland Hills, a school of champions, is represented by a giant trophy. The judges of the contest looked for enthusiasm for the Penguins and school spirit. Woodland Hills High clearly has a lot of both.

Way to go All-Stars!
