School Board Approves New Food Contract
The board discussed issues with the food contract last night.

The Woodland Hills School Board voted to accept a new food service contract Wednesday night at its regular board meeting.
The Nutrition Group, Inc. signed a one-year contract with four possible renewals to provide breakfast and lunch to all of the district's schools.
But the group is not welcomed with open arms. School board vice president Regis Driscoll mentioned that this is the same group the board threw out two years ago because of complaints about the quality of the company's food.
After throwing out The Nutrition Group, the school signed a contract with Chartwells School Dining Services. Only serving two years with the district,
Dan Breitkreutz, the Woodland Hills director of student operational services, completed the search for another food provider. He told the board he narrowed it down to two companies, Aramark and The Nutrition Group, and used a point system to decide on the winning contract.
Breitkreutz said he also had reservations with Aramark being a large corporation. He told the board The Nutrition Group would give the district more individualized attention being a smaller company.
And according to board member Fred Kuhn, who went with Breitkreutz to taste both companies' food selection, the quality of The Nutrition Group's food is no longer an issue, he said.
