• Souderton graduate earns $5,000 Ardent Credit Union scholarship before heading to Georgetown (northpennnow.com) — A Harleysville-area Souderton Area High School graduate, Riya Mehta, has earned a $5,000 grand prize scholarship from Ardent Credit Union to help launch her studies at Georgetown University this fall. The contest, open across the Philadelphia region, rewarded students for creative video submissions and also provided $2,500 awards to four other area seniors. 
• Firefighters battle Upper Gwynedd commercial fire; investigation underway (thereporteronline.com) — Harleysville Community Fire Company was among several departments called to help battle a major commercial fire in Upper Gwynedd Tuesday afternoon, where a partially demolished building was found fully engulfed. Crews fought the blaze defensively for more than three hours, contained it without injuries, and investigators are now working to determine the cause.
