For the past 50 years, Greater Harleysville and North Penn Senior Services has worked to enrich the lives of local Seniors.

As we celebrate our 50th Anniversary, we reflect upon the support from our community that has championed our mission to help Seniors age with dignity and independence, while maintaining that spark of vitality at any age.

Each year GHNPSS’ largest community-driven fundraiser recognizes one local individual who shares in our commitment to making positive contributions within our region and celebrates them as our Pillar of the Community Honoree. For The 2025 Pillar of the Community and 50th Anniversary Celebration, we are pleased to honor passionate community advocate and longtime GHNPSS Board Member, Bob Schoen.

As lifelong residents of the area, Bob and his wife Deb have made it a priority to stay engaged locally. It is this sense of community connection that shows up repeatedly as a common thread for the importance of Senior Centers. Encore Experiences and The PEAK Center serve as hidden gems within Harleysville and Lansdale. These unassuming Senior Centers are truly lifesaving hubs – places where Seniors feel supported and connected as part of something larger than themselves.

The Pillar of the Community Fundraiser is a celebration of our mission, but it is also a call to action. Our area’s older adult population is growing rapidly, and the local needs and associated costs of our services are growing accordingly. Your financial support allows us to play the vital role in our community of helping Seniors to live vibrant, purposeful, and independent lives at any age.

Our local Seniors, and our Senior Centers that serve them, need your support now more than ever. In honor of Bob Schoen—a humble leader who embodies the spirit of our Senior Centers through his community engagement, service, and dedication to something greater than himself—please consider a sponsorship or advertisement for this event.

We hope to see you at The Pavilion at Mainland Golf Course in Harleysville, on June 11th, from 5:30-8:30, as we recognize Bob and celebrate the incredible 50 yr anniversary of our organization. If you have any questions, please contact Liz Beil at ebeil@ghnpss.org or 215-256-6900 ext. 201.
