3 Deaths, 305 New Coronavirus Cases In Delco Over Past Week

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — The coronavirus is still in Delaware County, with more than 300 new cases reported over the past week.

According to data released Friday, the county saw just three deaths over the past week, but had more than 300 additional cases.

Data shows 305 new cases were identified over the past week, bringing the total number of cases in the county since the start of the pandemic to 11,653.

Below is a breakdown of Delaware County coronavirus case counts by age group:

  • 10 and under — 203
  • 10 to 19 — 919
  • 20 to 29 — 2,087
  • 30 to 39 — 1,592
  • 40 to 49 — 1,507
  • 50 to 59 — 1,776
  • 60 to 69 —1,419
  • 70 to 79 — 855
  • 80 and older — 1,294

Men account for 44.08 percent of all reported cases, and women account for 55.92 percent of all reported cases.

Of the 11,653 cases, 2,692 have been nursing home or long term care facility residents.

Additionally, long term care facility and nursing home residents account for 614 of the county's total 796 deaths. That's 77 percent of all deaths in the county.

As of Friday, Delaware County has had 109,189 negative test results reported and an 84.46 percent recovery rate.
