6 Hurt After SEPTA Trolley, Train Collide In Delco

DARBY, PA — A SEPTA trolley collided with a freight train in Delaware County Thursday morning, sending several people to hospitals.
The incident occurred at about 8:30 a.m. Thursday at 6th and Main streets in Darby, near the Darby loop, SEPTA said.
A Route 11 trolley with 20 passengers collided with a CSX freight train.

Six people were hurt, one of whom was the trolley operator.
All injuries suffered are non-life threatening, SEPTA said.

There is no word yet on what caused the crash.
Delaware County officials said the National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Rail Safety officials are participating in the investigation.
SEPTA used shuttle buses to supplant the trolley.
