Haverford Murder Suspect Appears In Delco Court

Derrick Rollins will answer to murder, homicide, aggravated assault, and more charges in connection with the July 29 random slaying.

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA – Derrick Rollins, the man accused of killing a Narberth resident in July and of shooting at two men in Philadelphia on the same day, appeared in Delaware County court Wednesday after being on the run from authorities.

Rollins is accused of murdering John Le, 29, of Narberth, on the afternoon of July 29 in Haverford Township.

Rollins, 24, of Philadelphia, is also accused of shooting numerous rounds at two men in Philadelphia's Overbrook section about 45 minutes before Le's death.

He appeared in court Wednesday for his preliminary arraignment after being extradited from DeKalb County, Georgia where he was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals on Aug. 22.

Rollins faces charges of criminal homicide; first, second, and third degree murder; aggravated assault; prohibited possession of a firearm; robbery; and more in connection with Le's death.

Rollins was held after a judge did not grant bail, court records show.

He is slated to appear for a preliminary hearing on Sept. 14.
