After Newborn Found Dead In Trash Bag, Delco Police Ask For Help

Police in Upper Darby are asking for the public's help as they investigate an incident in which a dead newborn was found in a trash bag.

UPPER DARBY, PA — After a newborn child was found dead in a trash bag in Upper Darby last week, police are looking for help from the public as they investigate the incident.

The child's body was found in a trash bag at the intersection of Patterson Avenue and Snowden Road on the afternoon of Thursday, September 23.

Police are asking for any information that can help them identify the child or anyone associated with the child, especially its parents.

Anyone who cannot care for a child up to 28 days old can call 911 to drop off the child at any Pennsylvania hospital or law enforcement as long as the baby is unharmed, and not a victim of any crime under Pennsylvania's Safe Haven Law.
