Solarize Delco Launches Community Solar Grant for Delaware County Nonprofits&nbsp;Grants of up to $20,000 available to help mission-driven organizations reduce&nbsp;energy costs and go solar
DELAWARE COUNTY, PA &mdash; Solarize Delco, a nonprofit solar education and advocacy organization serving Delaware County, Pennsylvania, has launched a community grant program to help local nonprofit organizations go solar. Grants cover up to 50% of the cost of a solar photovoltaic (PV) installation, up to a maximum of $20,000 per organization, and are available now while funds last. &ldquo;Solarize Delco exists to make solar accessible to everyone in Delaware County. Nonprofits are often doing the most essential work in our communities &mdash; feeding families, supporting children, serving our neighbors in need &mdash; while operating on the tightest budgets. Every dollar we can free up from their energy bill is a dollar that goes back into their programs. That&rsquo;s why this grant exists.&rdquo; &mdash; Solarize Delco Solar energy offers nonprofits a rare combination: a meaningful reduction in operating costs, a hedge against rising utility rates, and a visible demonstration of commitment to the community and environment. For many organizations, however, the upfront cost of installation has been a barrier. This grant is designed to change that. The grant program is part of Solarize Delco&rsquo;s broader mission to advance clean energy adoption across the county. As a no-pressure, no-sales advocacy organization, Solarize Delco provides education and guidance to help organizations navigate the solar process with confidence &mdash; from understanding their options to reviewing installer proposals &mdash; with no financial stake in the outcome.
Grant Details and Eligibility The Solarize Delco Community Solar Grant is open to qualifying organizations that meet all of&nbsp;the following criteria: &bull; Nonprofit status: Qualified 501(c)(3) organization in good standing &bull; Location: Operating in Delaware County, Pennsylvania &bull; Mission: Provides direct social services to the local community &mdash; such as food access,&nbsp;shelter, health services, education, or similar programs that directly benefit Delaware&nbsp;County residents &bull; Property ownership: Owns the property on which the solar installation will be located &bull; Site suitability: Property has an adequate location for a solar array, whether rooftop or&nbsp;ground-mounted &bull; Grant Amount: Up to 50% of total solar installation cost, maximum $20,000 per organization. Grants are awarded on a rolling basis while funds remain available. Organizations are encouraged to apply early. Come dance the cachucha and join The Savoy Company in celebrating our 125th anniversary year with Gilbert &amp; Sullivan’s uplifting operetta, The Gondoliers! Set in Venice and the fictional kingdom of Barataria, the plot centers on two gondoliers, Marco and Giuseppe, who discover that one of them is the rightful king but cannot determine which. They agree to rule jointly until the true monarch can be identified, allowing Gilbert to satirize monarchy, aristocracy, and British political institutions. The show is especially noted for its unusually warm tone and emphasis on equality, reflecting contemporary late-Victorian debates about class and governance.
Through its witty dialogue, lively ensemble numbers, and playful mockery of aristocracy and political systems, the operetta celebrates equality while poking fun at rigid class distinctions and the pretensions of monarchy.
Premiered in 1889, The Gondoliers is the twelfth collaboration between librettist W.S. Gilbert and composer Arthur Sullivan. The show ran for 554 performances, making it one of the duo’s most successful later works.
Introducing Stage Director Grant Mech and Choreographer Rebecca Malcolm-Naib, whose inventive vision brings The Gondoliers to life in a masterful comedy that sparkles under the outstanding baton of Music Director Peter Hilliard and a superb professional orchestra. Produced by William Kader, the production is enhanced by a striking, professionally designed set and delightfully charming costumes.

Mark Schultz began playing banjo and guitar in the early 60’s during the folk era. He was drawn to the energy and authenticity of bluegrass and devoted himself to mastering the 5 string banjo. Since that time he has played with too many bands to count, and has branched out into many other genres.
Phillygrass, a project rooted in Bluegrass tradition and shaped by the intensity of Philadelphia’s music scene.

Ellis Paul doesn’t just write songs; he’s a guitar-carrying reporter who covers the human condition and details the hopes, loves, losses of those he observes, turning their stories into luminous pieces of music that get under your skin and into your bloodstream. And much like the artists who have influenced him, everyone from Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan and Paul Simon to the singer-songwriter who is undoubtedly his greatest inspiration, Woody Guthrie, Paul weaves deeply personal experiences with social issues and renders them as provocative works that are as timely as they are timeless. Born and raised in Maine, Paul attended Boston College on a track scholarship and in the evenings became a fixture on the city’s open mic circuit. After winning a Boston Acoustic Underground songwriter competition, he caught the ear of folk luminary Bill Morrissey, who produced his indie album Say Something in 1993. This led to a seven album contract with Rounder Records and the 1994 album, Stories.
His songs have appeared in several blockbuster films (Me, Myself, and Irene; Shallow Hal, Hall Pass) and have been covered by award winning country artists (Sugarland, Kristian Bush, Jack Ingram). Through a steady succession of albums of his own – a remarkable 23 releases so far – and a constant touring presence around the world, Paul’s audience has grown into a loyal legion of fans. Along the way, he has picked up an impressive number of awards including the prestigious Kerrville New Folk Award, 15 Boston Music Awards, An Honorary Doctorate from the University of Maine, the 2019 International Acoustic Music Awards Artist of the Year and most recently his album, The Storyteller’s Suitcase, was named the 2019 NERFA Album of the Year.
