COVID Metrics In Delco Largely Unchanged Over Past 7 Days

Three of the six key coronavirus metrics measures by the state went down and two others went up, but the changes are nearly negligible.

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Over the past seven days, the coronavirus's impact in Delaware County hasn't changed much, according to state data.

Data from Pennsylvania Department of Health shows three of the six key coronavirus metrics decreased since last week. Two others increased and one remained the same.

Since last Friday, newly reported confirmed cases went down from 644 to 640.

The incidence rate per 100,000 people also went down from 113.6 to 112.9.

Average daily coronavirus patients on ventilators decreased from 6.3 to 4.6.

Coronavirus hospitalizations and the positive testing rate increased.

Average daily coronavirus specific hospitalizations went from 38 to 41 over the last week.

Delaware County's positive testing rate last week was 5.4 percent, this week's rate is 6.1 percent.

The percent of people showing up to emergency rooms with coronavirus-like illnesses remained the same at 1.8 percent.

As of Friday, 304,844 people in Delaware County have been fully vaccinated, 37,018 have been partially vaccinated, and 13,529 have received a booster shot since Aug. 13, according to the state.

To date, the county has seen 52,795 confirmed cases and 1,488 coronavirus-related deaths.
