Delco Council To Change Public Meetings To Wednesdays

The Delaware County Council will be changing its public meetings from Tuesdays to Wednesdays for 2012, according to a county press release.

The council approved the schedule change at its Organization meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 3, revealed the press release.

The county’s Public Relations Director William Lovejoy explained the reason for the date change to Patch.

“With the new schedule, weeks with Monday holidays, which occur several times a year, won’t affect the agenda meeting schedule because there is no need to schedule them for the previous Thursday, as has been necessary in the past, since Tuesday is a workday,” he wrote in an email.

The meetings will now take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday for 2012. Below is the 2012 public meeting dates: 

• January 11, 18 and 25

• February 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29

• March 7, 14, 21 and 28 

• April 4, 11 and 18

• May 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30

• June 13 and 27

• July 11 and 25

• August 8 and 22

• September 5, 12, 19 and 26

• October 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31

• November 14, 21 and 28

• December 5 and 12
