Delco Man Facing Murder Charge In SEPTA Subway Shooting

A 21-year-old Lansdowne man is accused of shooting and killing another man on the Market-Frankford Line in late March.

LANSDOWNE, PA — A Delaware County man is facing murder and related charges in Philadelphia in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on SEPTA's Market-Frankford Line.

Tahmir Banks, 21, of Lansdowne, has been charged with murder, firearm crimes, assault, tampering with evidence, and more crimes in connection with a shooting that occurred at about 12:30 a.m. on March 30.

The shooting happened on a Market-Frankford Line subway between the Erie-Torresdale and Tioga stations.

NBC10 reports Banks is accused of shooting Nicholas Troxell, 41, in the head, killing him.

Troxell died later at Temple University Hospital, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Banks was arrested April 10, court records show.

He was denied bail based on the charges.

Court documents show he is slated for am April 29 preliminary hearing.
