Drunk Havertown Man Parks At Police Station To Be 'Safe': Police

Police said the man was just being "safe" by parking at the station after drinking 12 to 14 beers.

HAVERTOWN, PA – A Havertown man who was allegedly driving drunk decided it was a good idea to get off the road and park at a police station, according to authorities.

Upper Darby Police arrested and charged Sean McCullough, 44, of Havertown, with driving under the influence and careless driving Wednesday following an early morning incident where he parked his car at the Upper Darby Police Station, court records show.

McCullough was released on $10,000 unsecured bail Wednesday and will appear for a preliminary hearing Aug. 28, according to court records.

Officers arrested McCullough when he pulled into the Upper Darby Police Station at about 4 a.m. Wednesday morning

McCullough reportedly told officers he thought parking at the station was the safest option for him, rather than continue driving, and admitted to drinking 12 to 14 beers that night, according to Philly.com.

Police said McCullough told officers he was too drunk to perform a field sobriety test.
