3 Roads In Haverford Affected By Work This Week

The three roads in Haverford Township this week will be affected by gas main work, milling and paving, and trench work, PennDOT said.

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA – Three roads in Haverford Township will be affected by work this week, according to PennDOT.

The affected roads are College Avenue, as well asEagle and Steel roads.

Eagle Road

PECO Energy is planning to close Eagle Road beginning this week for gas main improvements

From Monday, Sept. 10, through Friday, Sept. 14, Eagle Road will be closed between St. Denis Lane and Earlington Road in Haverford. The closure will be in effect between 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. During the nighttime closure, motorists will be directed to use Earlington Road, Brookline Boulevard and Darby Road.


Steel Road

Overnight lane restrictions are scheduled on Steel Road between Burmont Road and Drexel Avenue.

Closures are in place from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, through Friday, Sept. 14.

The closure is accommodating milling and paving as part of an improvement project to repair and resurface 47 miles of state highway in Delaware County.


College Avenue

Lane restrictions with flagging are scheduled on College Avenue between Walton Road and Haverford Road from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The restrictions will be in place Monday, Sept. 10, through Wednesday, Sept. 12, for utility trench restoration.

These restrictions will also be in effect at the intersection of Haverford Road and College Avenue.


Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the construction area because slowdowns will occur. The work schedule is weather dependent.
