• Haverford police warn of 'phone spoofing' over jury duty (delcotimes.com) — Haverford residents are being warned about a phone scam where callers spoof official court numbers, claim you missed jury duty, and threaten arrest unless you immediately pay supposed fines and fees. Police stress that scammers may even mention a fake gag order to stop you from reporting the call, and note at least one Delaware County district court has recently changed its number.
   

• National Teacher of the Year has a brilliant plan to recruit more young teachers: Invite them (upworthy.com) — A longtime Haverford High School teacher, Leon Smith, has been named National Teacher of the Year and is using his platform to inspire more young people, especially students of color, to enter teaching. Drawing on 25 years in Havertown classrooms, he promotes "grow your own" programs and simple personal invitations to show teens how powerful and rewarding the profession can be.
   

• Soccer Recap: Harriton Now 1-3-1 Since Winning 4 Straight (maxpreps.com) — Haverford High's boys soccer team earned its first win of the season Tuesday, upsetting higher-ranked Harriton 2-0 on the road. The Fords, now 1-2-1, next face conference rival Strath Haven at 6 p.m. Thursday, giving local fans a quick chance to see if this momentum continues.
