Ex Delco Park Police Officer Held On Child Sex Crime Charges

William Thomas McGrath IV will appear for a formal arraignment on charges of rape and more five days after his 31st birthday, records show.

UPPER DARBY, PA — A former Delaware County park police officer and emergency services dispatcher is being held for court on charges of rape of a child and more, court records show.

William Thomas McGrath IV, 30, of Upper Darby, will appear for his formal arraignment on Feb. 19, five days after his 31st birthday, according to court documents.

McGrath in October 2024 was charged with 20 counts each of rape of a child, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, statutory sexual assault, and indecent assault of a person less than 13 years old.

The Delaware County Daily Times reports a criminal affidavit states the victim told investigators McGrath sexually abused her repeatedly at a local daycare.

The victim, who is a teen now, attended the daycare from about 6 weeks old until she was 5 or 6 years old, according to the publication.

McGrath was freed after posting 10 percent of $75,000 bail.
