Hall, Burke Host Meet-In-Greet With Voters
Republican candidates take the time to address voters' concerns.
Jane Hall recently spoke with an estimated 20 Haverford Township residents about why she is running for the 3rd ward commissioner’s seat, along with Judge Robert Burke who is seeking reelection.
During the Thursday, Sept. 8, meet-and-greet at the American Legion at 2200 Grasslyn Ave. in Havertown, Hall explained to those in attendance how she started in politics by creating a neighborhood association to maintain and care for the area around her home in Ardmore.
Since her time in the association, Hall became the vice president of the Haverford Township Civic Council.

This was a similar message she gave during a question-and-answer session, where she also told the audience that she would like to see the updated with more computer terminals and helping people get access to more ebooks.
Accompanying Hall was incumbent Burke, who, like Hall, greeted many of the people who came in, from residents to commissioners, such as Township President William F. Wechsler for the 1st ward and James E. McGarrity of the 7th ward.
During the question and answer session, Burke told people how things have changed; where people no longer kept their front doors open anymore or how people with addictions will try opening unlock car doors to steal spare change to support their drug habits.
One of the audience members told Hall her concerns about the traffic problems that might be caused by the planned YMCA facility on Eagle Road.
Hall stated that she was not sure what was happening with the YMCA site, but said that once elected she would be “privy” to that information.
In an , YMCA of Philadelphia & Vicinity President and CEO John Flynn told Patch that a $1-million investment will be used to alleviate traffic problems.
Another person asked Hall if she would consider closing one of the five fire companies in the township. Hall replied that she would want to look at records, such as how many fires each company responds to, before considering closing any of the companies.
Hall will be facing off against Jeff Miller while Burke will be competing with Philip Lozano.
The current 3rd ward commissioner, Robert E. Trumbull, is not seeking reelection.
