Haverford School District Breaks Ground

The School District of Haverford Township broke ground for a new Maintenance and Transportation building on Wednesday, September 25.

School Directors Dr. Joseph Martin and Mr. Russ Bilotta joined Superintendent of Schools, Dr. William Keilbaugh for the ceremonial first dig. Maintenance and transportation staff,   Director of Maintenance Robert Lester, Director of Transportation George Ramplin, and other District administrators attended the ceremony.

The new $2.4 million building will be constructed on Hilltop Road at the site of the current transportation facility.  The building will include administrative offices for Maintenance and Transportation, the Maintenance Shop and a spacious training room. The building’s completion is anticipated by early February.  The current maintenance facility on Haverford Road will be used for much needed storage and the transportation trailers will be removed.

“The bus drivers, maintenance and custodial workers working behind the scenes here at the School District have seen all the work done on school district facilities over the last 15 years. Now is our chance to give them something new," said School Director Russ Bilotta.
