• Mazzeo Wins Collegiate Debut as Men Take Friar Invitational; Women Finish Third (pennathletics.com) — Penn's men's and women's cross country teams opened their season strongly at the Friar Invitational and are now preparing to race in Haverford later this month. The Quakers will head to Haverford College on Friday, Sept. 18 for the Main Line Invitational, giving local fans a chance to see top collegiate runners compete nearby.
   

• U.D. officer hit by fleeing dirt bike driver, suffers ankle injury (delcotimes.com) — An Upper Darby highway patrol officer suffered an ankle injury after being struck by a fleeing dirt bike rider, later identified through an iPhone and prior arrest records in Haverford. The suspect, previously out on bail from a Haverford case, now faces aggravated assault and multiple traffic charges and is being held in Delaware County prison pending a mid‑September hearing.
