Haverford School District Dismissing Early Monday, Jan 8

The Eagles playoff pep rally at Haverford Middle School has been canceled as well. A Winter Weather Advisory goes into effect at 1 p.m.

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA – The School District of Haverford Township is dismissing students early Monday, Jan. 8 as wintry weather is expected to descend on the region Monday afternoon and evening, possibly making commutes troublesome.

Haverford High School students will be dismissed at 11:20 a.m.. while middle school students will be dismissed at 11:35 a.m.

All elementary schools will dismiss at 12:30 p.m,.

There will be no evening Monday and the district said kindergarten parents will get an email with additional details.

All after-school and evening activities set for Monday, including the Eagles playoff pep rally are canceled, as well.

A winter weather advisory has been issued in Eastern Pennsylvania for a mix of sleet and snow Monday, the National Weather Service said.

The Winter Weather Advisory is in place from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday.

Forecasters predict a wintry mix of freezing rain, sleet and snow during the Monday evening commute.
