Haverford Township Employee Killed In Workplace Accident

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — A Haverford Township employee died Monday in a work place accident, according to authorities.

Police said Kenneth "Casey" Berry was involved in a tragic workplace accident on Monday afternoon.

According to police, Berry was working on the back hopper of a garbage truck at the time of the accident.

Medical personnel and police responded to the scene, where they administered lifesaving efforts to Berry.

Berry was transported to Lankenau Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities are not releasing any further details on Berry's death.

"This was a tragic accident and it is an extremely difficult situation for everyone involved," authorities said. "A thorough investigation is underway to determine the factors that lead to this fatal accident. Grief counselors have been brought in and will be available to the first responders and all Haverford Township employees. The entire Haverford Township Administration and all Haverford Township employees mourn this tragic loss and we offer our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Berry."
