Main Line Residents Launch Anti-Billboard Petition
Residents in various Main Line municipalities are coming out strongly against electronic billboards from appearing in their townships.
MAIN LINE, PA — Residents of Haverford, Lower Merion, and Marple Township are coming out strong against potential electronics billboards in the townships and have launched a petition urging a judge to strike down the proposal.
A petition on Change.org to halt the installation of billboards in the residential areas at 600 and 658 Lancaster Avenue and 1157 and 2040 West Chester Pike has more than 1,300 signatures of its 1,500 goal as of 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 13.
The billboards are proposed by Catalyst Experiential LLC, of Newtown Square.

Petitioners are hoping to get Judge Spiros E. Angelos of the Delaware County Court of Common Please to deny the request by Catalyst.
The petition claims electronic billboards distract drivers, cause light pollution, and can cause devaluation of properties nearby.

"We respectfully implore this honorable Court to keep these factors in mind as it decides this case, and therefore deny the request of Bartkowski and Catalyst," the petition reads.
Residents recently packed into Centennial Hall at The Haverford School to oppose billboards on Lancaster Avenue.
