PA Health Dept Taking Over Some COVID Services In Delco
The shift comes as Delco and the Chester County Health Department end the partnership to provide services to county residents.
DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Health will pick up coronavirus related services for Delaware County residents.
Delaware County officials said starting Aug. 1, the department will take on services such as investigation and surveillance, data reporting, testing and vaccination oversight, public health communications, official guidance, and assistance to residents who have questions and concerns relating to the coronavirus.
The move comes as the Chester County Health Department and Delaware County ends the partnership for Chester County to provide these services and guidance for residents of Delaware County.

"We are immensely grateful to Chester County for providing life-saving services and support to our residents over the last 16 months," Delaware County Council Chairman Brian Zidek said. "Over the past year and a half, Delaware County has worked to establish a strong COVID-19 Task Force and now has a better infrastructure in place than we did in the early stages of the pandemic. Our County is prepared to respond to the needs of our residents with assistance from Pennsylvania Department of Health."
