Panhandler Lying About Disabled Vehicle: Haverford Police

Police said the man pictured here has been defrauding passersby by saying his vehicle is disabled and asking for money in the township.

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — Haverford Township Police are looking into a man who is allegedly asking for money by telling passersby his vehicle is broken down.

Police said they have gotten numerous reports of the man above attempting to flag down other drivers and asking money for his disabled vehicle in the Pilgrim Gardens section of the township.

The investigation has revealed the man is tricking passing drivers as his vehicle is not disabled, police said.

Police are aware of his identity and said he has been warned about panhandling previously.

The subject was recently arrested by Upper Darby Police for similar incidents, according to police.

Police are looking for any possible victims who give him money because of his disabled vehicle fraud.
