Reward Doubled In Fatal Stabbing Of Delaware County Teen

Michael Garr, 15, was stabbed and killed Friday night in Drexel Hill. The $5,000 reward has now been increased to $10,000 for information.

DREXEL HILL, PA — The reward for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for a Delaware County teen's stabbing death has doubled.

Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 27 is now offering $10,000 for information in connection with 15-year-old Michael Garr's death.

Garr, an Upper Darby High School student, was stabbed to death 9:30 p.m. on the 200 block of Bridge Street in Drexel Hill Friday.

Anyone who has information on Garr's death should contact Upper Darby Police at 484-574-1157.

Police are asking anyone in the Oakview section of Drexel Hill near or off Bridge Street, or along the Baltimore Pike corridor in Clifton Heights, to contact them

Authorities are also asking anyone who may have surveillance video from April 21, about 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., to contact them.

Anyone with footage of the area at that time should send it to info@udpd.org.

"If you or anyone you know has any information, however insignificant it may seem, that you think can help us, please do not hesitate to call our tip line at 484-574-1157," police said.

Police also said a couple who were walking on Bridge Street, passing Anne Street, and then down Dennison Avenue at about 9:30 p.m. Friday is sought for questioning. They are depicted in the photo above.

"If you were one of these individuals, or if you know who they may be, please let us know,"police said.

A GoFundMe campaign has been established to support Garr's family.

"The family is devastated and trying to process this senseless act," organizer Michael Peabody said on the page. "Looking to support the family and help to defray funeral costs as they bury their teenaged loved one."

As of Tuesday morning, more than $41,200 has been raised by the campaign.
