Turnpike Toll Hike to Kick In Jan. 1

A ten percent increase for all cash customers will go into effect.

According to the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, Pennsylvania Turnpike fares will increase by ten percent for all cash paying-customers on most of the state’s toll roads starting New Year's Day.

The increase does not apply to E-ZPass users.

Under the new rate, a drive from Valley Forge to Pittsburgh will trigger a toll of $23.90

The increase will apply to all vehicle classes traveling on all sections of the Turnpike except for Turnpike 576 in Allegheny and Washington counties.
