The work is part of a larger interchange improvement project on West Chester Pike. Planned changes include:
- Delineation of the westbound Route 3 (West Chester Pike) off-ramp to the northbound I-476 on-ramp from the signalized intersection at South Lawrence Road. The traffic signal will no longer control the lane and will be free-flowing.
- The northbound I-476 on-ramp will be re-striped.
- A new channelized right-turn lane will be constructed at the intersection of Route 3 (West Chester Pike) and northbound I-476 off-ramp/on-ramp for vehicles from South Lawrence Road to northbound I-476.
- A new cantilever overhead lane designation sign structure along westbound Route 3 (West Chester Pike), east of North Lawrence Road.
- ADA curb ramps and pedestrian facilities along the corridor will be evaluated and updated, as necessary, to meet current ADA standards.
The project is federally funded.
