History Day Activities at Heller Homestead

At the historic Heller Homestead,located just off the popular Saucon Rail Trail, the Saucon Valley Conservancy will host a Civil War Encampment with living history demonstrations throughout the day by Historical Impressions of America.

A Craft Show & Plant Sale, featuring a large variety of native plants, will also be held. (For more information, or to reserve a $10 space, call 610-694-9514 or khudak@rcn.com). 

Be sure to visit the recreated 19th century four-square herb garden which was a typical aspect of Pennsylvania German farm life.

 Saucon Valley Girl Scout docents will take visitors on “A Journey through Time”. Inside the Heller House & the Widow’s House, rooms with period furnishings will offer guests a chance to experience the past.

A Meet the Young Artists’ Reception will feature artwork by Saucon Valley High School students.

while driving between the 3 historic sites - at Pathway to Progress: A Look at the Present in Honor of the Past,
a Hellertown – Lower Saucon Chamber of Commerce Event featuring local businesses on display along the Saucon Rail Trail & a “sneak peek” into the Saucon Valley Farmers’ Market which will open on Sunday, May 6th.
