Friday is Deadline to Apply for School Board Vacancy
The Saucon Valley School District is accepting letters of interest from residents who wish to fill a vacancy on the school board.
The deadline to apply for a vacancy on the Saucon Valley School Board is Friday, June 21 at noon.
The vacancy was created when board member Sharon Stack resigned last week.
Stack's term expires in December 2015, so a special election to fill her seat will be held in November.

Seven candidates are running for four other open seats on the school board in November.
The school board will appoint a replacement to fill Stack's seat in the interim; an appointment is likely to occur at the next board meeting.

According to a news alert about the vacancy issued by the district, applicants for the interim appointment must be 18 or older and reside in the Saucon Valley School District.

All applicants interested in filling the vacancy should respond with a letter of interest that includes qualifications.
