Baxter was elected as the school board’s vice president for a one-year term ending in December 2012.

An election of board representatives to serve on various bodies was also held, with most positions remaining filled as they have been in the past. However, there were a few exceptions:

  • Eichfeld was elected to serve out the remainder of Peeke’s term as a representative to the Bethlehem Area Vocational Technical School Authority Board. The term ends in November 2013.
  • Sharon Stack was elected to serve as a Pennsylvania School Boards Association (PSBA) legislative representative for a one-year term ending in December 2012.

In addition to the elections and swearing in of elected members, the board approved all school board meeting dates for 2012 at the meeting.

All school board meetings will be held on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month, with the exception of three meetings which will be moved to Mondays.

The meeting that would have normally been scheduled for Jan. 10, 2012 will instead be held Monday, Jan. 9, 2012; the meeting scheduled for Jan. 24, 2012 will instead be held Monday, Jan. 23, 2012; and the meeting scheduled for April 23, 2012 will instead be held Monday, April 22, 2012.

In addition to Karabin, Eichfeld, Baxter, Stack, Lum, Bartolet and Inghrim, the current members of the nine-member board include Ralph Puerta and Sandra Miller.
