Senior Spotlight: Alexandra Evangelista

Saucon senior Alexandra Evangelista is both a runner and a swimmer.

Saucon Valley senior Alexandra Evangelista keeps busy from fall through spring as a member of the Panther cross country team, the Panther swim team and the track team.

"I ran track in middle school, but never cross country," she said. "Coach (Ed) Kolosky convinced me to do cross country when I got to high school."

She began cross country running in ninth grade and stayed with it through her senior year.

Her CC highlights include: getting to states in 2010 and winning the Colonial League Cross Country Championship in 2011. Her disappointment was failing to return to the state competition after her freshman year.

"But I tried my best, so I don't have any regrets," she said.

Alexandra sees her dad as her role model because he also ran cross country in high school.

"He always supported me and understood what I was going through because he had done it too," she explained.

Her favorite subject is history and her favorite food is pasta. Alexandra also serves as a Hellertown Area Library volunteer. Her future plan is to enroll at Kings College, where she will double major in Business Management and Economics. She also hinted that she "just might run cross country."

In tenth grade Alexandra joined the Panther swim team. This past season she swam the freestyle leg in the 200m Relay and also the 500m freestyle event.

Alexandra joined the track team as a ninth grader, where her love for distance running continued as she ran the 1600m and the 3200m events.

Alexandra has a younger brother, Nicholas, and an older sister, Rebekah. She is the daughter of Michael and Theresa Evangelista.
