Seidersville Hall
3700 Old Philadelphia Pike
Lower Saucon Township, PA 18015

Before 1740 and before the Moravians settled in Bethlehem, Nathaniel Irish built a grist mill in an area that became Shimersville. The village that grew up around this mill was the first settlement in Lower Saucon Township.
Frank Fabian, will give a talk on this long forgotten area located across the Lehigh River from Freemansburg. Fabian has collected rare photos and maps of the village. In the early twentieth century, Bethlehem Steel Corporation purchased all the property in Shimersville and demolished the buildings (homes, schools, businesses) to make way for their coke manufacturing plant. Fabian will bring the village back to life for us with his stories.
The lecture is free, open to the public and light refreshments will be served.
