Where to Expect Road Work: Dec. 19-23

PennDOT has announced the following scheduled road work in the Saucon Valley area.

Road work? Yes, even though it's the week before Christmas there is still road work scheduled in the Saucon Valley area.

This week the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced that the following road projects will be taking place in our area (all projects are weather dependent):

  • From Monday, Dec. 19 through Friday, Dec. 23 PennDOT maintenance crews will be cutting brush along Applebutter Road in Lower Saucon Township. The work will be performed along Applebutter Road, Island Park Road (in Williams Township) and South 25th Street (in Palmer Township/Wilson Borough), between Shimersville Road and Freemansburg Avenue. During this same time frame, along the same stretch of road, road crews will also be sealing cracks. All of the work is expected to be completed between the hours of 9am and 3pm, and motorists should expect lane restrictions with flagging.

Because of the upcoming holidays traffic will likely be heavier than normal this week, so motorists should be prepared for possibly lengthier delays where road work (either scheduled or unscheduled) is occurring.
