• Pennsylvania Top Court won't hear Hollidaysburg Community Watchdog's Sunshine appeal (altoonamirror.com) — Hollidaysburg residents should know that Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court has refused to hear an appeal by Hollidaysburg Community Watchdog over alleged Sunshine Act violations tied to borough funding for the Phoenix Volunteer Fire Department. Lower courts ruled that any closed-door missteps were cured by a later public meeting, leaving Borough Council’s 2021 decision to keep funding the department in place and ending this particular legal challenge. 
• Suspect in Altoona overdose death takes plea (altoonamirror.com) — In a Hollidaysburg courtroom, the alleged leader of an Altoona-area drug ring has agreed to plead guilty to voluntary manslaughter and other charges in a fatal 2022 overdose case, with a proposed 14- to 30-year state prison sentence. The judge accepted most of the plea but delayed final approval on the manslaughter count until the victim’s family can be consulted, while related cases for several co-defendants continue through Blair County courts.
• Bishop McCort LHAC Lawsuit Update (fox8tv.com) — Hollidaysburg Area School District is one of several districts named in an expanded federal lawsuit by Bishop McCort Catholic Academy over its status in the Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference. The suit claims public-school members and the PIAA discriminated against the Catholic school through conference rule changes and past recruiting sanctions, and it now seeks damages and to void the contested conference amendment.
