(scdemocratonline.com) — Saturday farmers markets return to downtown Honesdale’s Cooperage Project on November 7, running from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday this month. The nonprofit’s November lineup also includes jazz with Tyler Dempsey + Friends on November 15. A November 19 documentary screening explores how refugees and immigrants built new lives in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
   

• Honesdale football falls to Valley View in District 2 quarterfinals (tricountyindependent.com) — Honesdale's first-ever District 2 home playoff game ended in a 42-21 loss to Valley View on Nov. 6, closing the Hornets' season. An overflow crowd saw flashes of a comeback, including Dontae Joseph's touchdown run, but Valley View's passing attack proved too much. Coach George Howanitz praised his players for never giving up.
   

• Vehicle crashes into Honesdale-area bagel shop (tricountyindependent.com) — A car crashed through a window at Vinny's Original Brooklyn Bagels on Route 6 in Texas Township on Nov. 6. Nearby businesspeople and a plaza owner reported no known injuries. A tow truck removed the vehicle, and the damaged window at the Honesdale-area shop was boarded up.
