• Honesdale chooses Llewellyn for vacant council seat (riverreporter.com) — Honesdale Borough Council has appointed Larissa Ann Llewellyn to fill a vacant council seat created by former president Tiffany Rogers’ resignation, choosing her in a 5–1 vote. Council also reshuffled leadership, naming Pat Resti president, Kim Fisch vice president, and William McAllister president pro tem. These changes will shape how Honesdale’s council tackles safety and other local priorities.
   

• 14th Annual School Rocks Backpack Giveaway returns Sunday to NEPA (fox56.com subscription) — Families in Honesdale can pick up free backpacks for students this Sunday at the Verizon store on Old Willow Avenue, part of a large regional School Rocks Backpack Giveaway.
