Police officers arrived to find the Jeep Wrangler engulfed in flames and the Cadillac Escalade on its side of the roadway. The Toyota Camry remained at the scene.

A preliminary investigation, including eyewitness accounts, found that the Cadillac Escalade was traveling westbound on Horsham Road. The Escalade reportedly attempted to pass the Camry, which was also traveling westbound.

Police said the Escalade then entered the eastbound lanes and drove into oncoming traffic, leading to the head-on collision with the Jeep Wrangler.

The driver of the Cadillac Escalade was found unresponsive and not breathing, and trapped in the overturned vehicle, police said.

The Horsham Fire Company extricated the driver, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Police said that alcohol was found in and around the Escalade, and investigators have not ruled out impaired driving as a contributing factor.

The driver of the Jeep Wrangler was able to exit their vehicle before it became engulfed in flames, police said. The driver sustained multiple serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The driver and passenger of the Toyota Camry were not injured in the crash.

Investigators are awaiting toxicology results pending an autopsy by the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.
