Today's riddle: Is there anybody completely useless? 🤔 (Answer below!)
1. 'Too Narrow' Streets Causing Hatboro Parking Issues, Officials Say (patch.com) — Hatboro officials say several borough streets are too narrow for safe parking on both sides, creating problems for residents and emergency vehicles. After a yearlong parking study and a recent town hall with affected neighbors, the Parking Commission is weighing feedback and may recommend one-side-only parking on more than a dozen streets, with any final changes requiring Borough Council action and possible ordinance amendments.
2. Man Fired Shot At Woman In Hatboro Domestic Incident: PD (patch.com) — Hatboro police say a 29-year-old man fired a shot at a woman during a domestic dispute on Horsham Road Saturday, narrowly missing her before fleeing to Philadelphia, where he was arrested. He now faces multiple assault and related charges, is being held on $500,000 cash bail, and has a preliminary hearing set for Oct. 1, underscoring ongoing local safety concerns.
3. New Waterslide Coming For Hatboro Memorial Pool (patch.com) — Hatboro has secured nearly $944,000 in state grants to add a new waterslide at Hatboro Memorial Pool, buy safer road-closure barriers for community events, and replace the borough's aging street sweeper. These upgrades aim to improve safety on York Road during festivals and parades, keep local streets and stormwater systems cleaner, and enhance one of Hatboro's most popular family recreation spots for years to come.
4. Montgomery County food safety inspections found mold growing on food (readingeagle.com) — Montgomery County's latest restaurant inspections include a visit to Richie's Bar & Grill on West County Line Road in Hatboro, where officials cited issues like mold-like buildup in the ice machine and sanitizer problems but observed some fixes on-site. The roundup also lists numerous other eateries countywide, offering residents a snapshot of current food safety concerns and follow-ups.
