Keith Valley Middle School Celebrates April’s Pacesetters

HORSHAM – Keith Valley Middle School is proud to announce the individuals who have been named Pacesetters for April.

Teachers select students from each team in the school to be nominated every month. April’s sixth-grader winners are: James Buonato, Victoria Burns, Jared Fitzgerald, Allison Scott, Jessica Gipson and Karl Pietsch. Seventh-grade winners are: Hayden Moffat, Carolyn Molnar, Julia Heinze, Michael Neumayer, Grace Fox and Michael Pittmann. Eighth-grade winners are: Stefanie Eble, Hunter Ridgway, Zachary Flaville, Daniella Repkoe, Jared Melnik and Abigail Rusnak.

Students are selected based on the ways in which they demonstrate character, honesty, tolerance, understanding, responsibility, manners and academic achievement. While there are no set criteria for selecting the winners, in general, students who are chosen help to promote a positive school environment.

Students are notified they have been selected when they are called down to the school lobby and are congratulated by teachers and administrators. Also there to greet the honorees are past award winners. These individuals pass along the Pacesetters lapel pin they received to the new recipients.

Students receive two invitations to the Pacesetters breakfast, which they can use to invite parents and teachers to accompany them to the morning celebration. Students are presented with certificates at that time. In addition to these accolades, the school honors Pacesetters through photos posted on bulletin boards, announcements made on KVTV and special messages on the districtwide cable channel, HHTV. Finally, staff members are notified of which individuals were named Pacesetters and are asked to congratulate the students when they see them.

“These students serve as role models for their peers and we hope that by honoring these individuals, it will encourage other students to follow their lead,” Assistant Principal Sarah Stout said. “The school is incredibly pleased with these students’ accomplishments and is thrilled to recognize them as the April Pacesetters.”
