Construction Begins On Former CVS Property In Hatboro
The Hatboro development now has a name: the Milliner Lofts Project, borough officials said.

HATBORO, PA —At times, the scene is one of disbelief.
After 14 years, there's life at the long-dormant CVS property on South York Road.
The activity is about bulldozers as construction has begun on the first development under the borough's Town Center Mixed-Use Ordinance.

Officials said the borough sent a letter in March regarding the upcoming construction at 24-28 S. York Road.
It's the former CVS property and the project now has a name: the Milliner Lofts Project.

The developer had originally planned to break ground at the start of the year, but borough officials said there was a slight delay.
Borough officials said the developer recently recorded the final plans for the property with Montgomery County and has received permits for the foundation.
"As you may have noticed, the site work has begun," officials told Patch.
With the construction, the parking lot immediately behind the CVS property is closed, borough officials said.
"This closure will ensure the construction site will be safe and secure without damage to vehicles using the parking lot," officials said.
Residents and business owners will continue to have access to the main Moreland and Orchard Parking Lot immediately behind Reid’s Repair and Artifact Brewing.
The parking restrictions will remain in place throughout construction, officials said.
During this time, business owners are encouraged to direct their patrons to utilize parking on their property (if applicable), in the main section of the Moreland and Orchard Lot, on-street metered parking, or parking in the other municipal lots (Bank Street located off of Lehman Avenue and the Commuter Lot located off of E. Moreland Avenue).
The Borough Council unanimously granted conditional use and preliminary/final land development approvals for the developer of the former CVS property on South York Road last year.
That cleared the way for 36 "high-end, professional" apartments and retail space on the first floor.
The CVS project is the first under the borough's mixed-use Town Center Ordinance to receive the stamp of approval from the Borough Council.
In late January, the Hatboro Borough Council approved a mixed-use ordinance for a section of York Road after a public hearing of 50 people.
The ordinance allows developers to make proposals that could see building heights go to 60 feet provided they meet certain guidelines, meaning that the downtown district could have taller buildings and apartments.
The option allows for buildings along York Road —from Byberry Road to Montgomery Avenue —to be taller than the current 35 feet allowed.
